Hi Mark, yes it appears that is the case, it must be somthing to do with how WordPress handles the ‘original’ file differently from the resized ones it edits itself.

I think I am right in saying that the files that WordPress resizes from the image that you have uploaded are written OK and work fine. I mean here the ‘thumbnail’, ‘medium’ and ‘large’ sizes that are resized by WordPress on file upload. It is only the original file that seems to have a problem.
